A/T/O/S are one of those rare acts which defy easy categorisation. Associated with Mala’s Deep Medi Muzik record label, they make music which is broadly within the dubstep family, but remains that little bit more abstract.
“What I Need” is, at points, a bewildering experience, as the pace and chaos pick up and the horns samples whizz around frantically. But then, at other times, it’s pure peace. Soft piano, gentle bass, serene spaciousness.
The song was released in 2014 on the duo’s debut album, A Taste Of Struggle.
