Its got stiff competition, with many standout tracks from Brown Sugar and Voodoo. But if it isn’t his best, it’s certainly his most interesting!
“Back To The Future Part I” is a smooth ride, like most D’Angelo songs. It’s got a seriously funky pop to it, but nothing to make you get up from your plush recliner.
The second part injects a healthy chaos, and the result is astounding. The bass punches harder, the atmosphere builds, the funk meter maxes out.
