Original pressings of this obscure psychedelic classic are rather hard to track down. The band released Solid Oak themselves in 1972 – their only album.
If you like psychedelia, this powerful, apocalyptic track will do it for you. It sprawls indolently across 8 minutes or so, boasting echoing guitar lines and low key organ waves.
The latter half of the track places greater emphasis on traditional guitar soloing, tracing a burning line across that juggernaut of a groove.
The track resurfaced after it was featured on Forge Your Own Chains, a 2009 psychedelic compilation by Now-Again Records.
