Sudan Archives sounds like a band, but it isn’t. It’s a woman – and a very talented woman at that.
She plays violin, produces and raps, a potent combination when done well.
This one showcases her lyrical ability. It’s very zeitgeist-y, coldly dissecting the contradictions of modern life to a slamming soundtrack of weighty 808 bass and tripped out instruments that I can’t quite place.
The overall effect is a tidal wave of bittersweet, confidence – and it absolutely slaps!
“Limitless” was released on her brilliant album Athena, in 2019. I have no doubt that in 2029, the work she’s doing now will be considered classic…
