Barrington Levy is up there among the most prolific and successful Jamaican Dancehall Deejays.
Not by accident, either. Using his distinctive voice and versatile delivery, he has more than earned his place among the legends of the reggae and dancehall scenes.
The production on this riddim is superb too, blending a chest rattling bassline with a slow, purposeful march. It makes sense when you consider that Prince Jammy and Scientist were the studio engineers and Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes was the producer!
“Look Youthman” was released in 1979 on Englishman, and as a single in 1980. Both of these releases were on Greensleeves – classic quality from a top label!
