“Normalizo” is absolutely dreamy, to be honest. The song really just floats from start to finish.
Letta Mbulu is a singer from South Africa, and she is undeniably a very good singer. Her vocals soar above a rich soundscape of synths and guitars. The bassline is a reassuringly funky presence, anchoring down the sweetness of the synth parts and the heavenly singing.
In The Music… The Village Never Ends was released in 1983, and then reissued as Sweet Juju in Japan two years later. It has luckily been reissued since, which is important as it is all too easy for old African songs to be lost to obscurity.
