The original version of “You’re The One For Me” was D-Train’s first single, released in 1981. Paul Hardcastle released a cover in the same year. But this remix, also by Hardcastle, was released in 1985.
It essentially makes the track harder, emphasising the electronic elements and toning down the vocals. Hardcastle adds some groovy keys too.
The song is very 80s. And also a great example of cross-Atlantic collaboration!
This remix hit number 15 on the UK singles chart. The original had only reached number 30 in the UK, although it went to number one on the US dance chart.
