With a few rare exceptions, I don’t get along with US dubstep. It’s too unsubtle, too brash, and too ‘EDM’.
The Widdler is one of the better artists. Especially if he’s making dubby slices of goodness like this.
It’s authentically rootsy, which is why it appears on the Roots EP, a 2015 collaboration between The Widdler and Akcept. The EP is a conscious effort to replicate that vibe, and it works. “Dedication Dub” even has a Rodigan sample!
